Library Visit

The whole school had a lovely visit to Sligo Central Library on Friday last. We got a tour of the library and learned how all the books are arranged. The children then got a chance to renew their library cards and to choose some books to borrow. There were lots of happy faces going home with plenty of fun, interesting books to read! We had such a big haul of books home with us that I think the next time we will have to bring a trailer!

At the Post Office

The Junior Room are busy at work writing cards and letters, designing stamps, posting letters and working in a very busy post office as well as delivering the letters!! They are really enjoying the Post Office theme.

Indoor games on wet days

Making the most of indoor games on wet days! Do you remember these classic games from your schooldays?

Powerpoint Projects

Some fantastic teamwork between 1st/2nd class and the pupils in the senior room as they worked together on powerpoint projects on our suite of Netbooks. They got the chance to collaborate on the project, and then present it to the rest of the class. We are currently in the process of applying to become a Digital School of Distinction, a flagship programme which aims to promote, recognise and encourage excellence in the use of technology in primary schools.

New floors!

Making the most of our brand new floors that we had installed in the school over the Summer holidays! On a wet day, we got the chance to pull back the tables, do a workout using our interactive whiteboard to get our brains moving, and test out our new portable cushions with a bit of schoolwork on the floor!

Supervalu Athletics Festival

Some of our super speedsters in action at the Supervalu Athletics Festival which took place at IT Sligo Knocknarea Arena yesterday. Thanks to everyone in Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership for a superbly organised event!

We began our AISTEAR journey this week! Our first theme is ‘At the Airport’. Thank you for bringing in lots of suitable toys. The children are enjoying constructing airports, playing with airplanes and engaging in role play at the check in desk.
